I’ve been teaching yoga since 2008 specializing in Breath Centric Vinyasa/Hatha and Gentle Yoga styles. I teach passionately from my heart and create accessible classes for all levels. You will leave my classes feeling balanced, renewed and peaceful. I work to create a transformative experience for you each time you come to the studio. I believe that yoga is the perfect antidote to our fast paced, hectic and stressful lifestyles. In my classes you will find an emphasis on the breath in a slow and soulful style. I offer alignment suggestions and modifications for poses to meet you where you are currently in your practice, whether you are a beginner to experienced practitioner. I am known as a teacher who is gentle in her approach and helpful for the person desiring to unite mind, body and breath. I offer themes each class that will enhance your understanding of yoga philosophy and help you live your yoga on and off your mat.
I am passionate about getting as many people as possible to try yoga. I love working with “beginners”. My personal mission is to increase the number of people practicing yoga in hopes of bring more peace to our community.
My yoga training was successfully completed through the 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training program with YogaFit. Since completing my 200 hour studies, I have continued my studies with many wonderful teachers from around the world and I have attended numerous yoga training workshops, retreats and conferences. My personal practice and teaching is Hatha Vinyasa based from the lineage of T. Krishnamacharya and T.K.V. Desikachar.
The highlight in my teaching and personal practice was my trip to India to study with my teacher, Sri Ravi Shankar at his studio, Yoga Nidhi, in Chennai, India. My teaching and personal practice is most heavily influenced by Sri Ravi Shankar and the following teachers that I have had the honor of studying with over the last several years: Beth Shaw and all of my teachers at YogaFit, Cyndi Lee, Jason Crandell, Rodney Yee Colleen Saidman.
I will always be a student of yoga first and foremost! Starting in January 2017, I will be continuing my education for the 500 Hour Yoga Teacher Training at Mudita.
When I’m not practicing yoga, you can find me spending time with my Husband and Daughter, hiking, snowshoeing, walking our two beagles or volunteering for a variety of organizations.
I look forward to the opportunity to work with you in classes as we both continue on our yoga journeys.
