This national event showcases yoga as a pathway to strength and healing.
Take Back The Night represents the earliest worldwide stand against sexual violence, especially violence against women. In 2001, Katie Koestner, the first woman in the US to speak out nationally and publicly about being the victim of campus “date” rape, reached out to early event organizers about uniting their efforts and sharing their history. In a collective effort, the Take Back The Night Foundation has the ability to share a collective history and support each other in their individual causes.
This year, we again celebrate the power of yoga to strengthen and create a space of healing for survivors.
On Saturday, October 5
Shine Your Light Yoga events will be presented at studios around the nation to represent their vision.

Here is an overview of the offering:
Release Rejevnate Rise 10:30 am – 12:00 pm
We will begin connecting to our breath, intending to give our body permission to release the tension, the holding, the pain. The movements will be gentle and mindful. Threading our breath with movement will create calmness of mind, moments of clarity, spaciousness to remember who we are. We will feel the ability to move with ease, giving room to let go of what is not serving us, giving room to expand our purpose, our truth. Saying ‘yes’ to that truth, we will rise to Shine Our Light!
Closing Circle 12:00 – 12:30 pm
Experience the benefits of gathering in the energy of your practice. We will explore the art of writing, guided with prompts we will journal and discover the way to allow our practice to grow us in the direction of our highest good. Held in a sense of peacefulness and ease, we will close our day singing praises to the light within us all!

We, at Mudita, believe in the power of yoga. We believe in the possibility for yoga to bring us into connection – to our breath, to our body, to our deepest essence.
